Guest Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Hi all For security reasons this morning I changed my passwords for admin/mail/cpanel. Whilst in cpanel I clicked to go to phpmyadmin and got this message: " Welcome to phpMyAdmin. Wrong username/password. Access denied." I can't see any other way to access phpmyadmin, and I've always done it via cpanel. There's no option to re-enter username and/or password on this error page. Can anyone tell me if there's something else I should change somewhere, or if there's another way to access phpmyadmin? Appreciate any help Chris :)
a1200 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 The phpmyadmin password is the root mysql password. There are guides online for resetting this password if you aren't sure what it is. Oh and the other way to access phpmyadmin is normally http://website.com/phpmyadmin

(still learning!) - Did look online and all I can find is ways to change your password via phpmyadmin, which isn't a lot of help! lol :)

Edit: This might help too http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-software-2/phpmyadmin-login-rejection-as-root-232339/ Obtaining your password for your database will be the first thing I think. - either the top one (mysql's root) or if you are on a shared system, your oscommerce database username and password.

Well thanks again for the response - maybe it was just a delayed reaction, but I can now access phpmyadmin from cpanel as I've always done. :)

I have seen things like ISPconfig take a while to make system changes. It would seem the user in the following post had the same experience: http://www.astahost.com/info.php/phpmyadmin_t2546.html Glad you're sorted!
