sparky79 Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 hi i have asked a web designer for a bit of constructive criticism , this is what he has said: "Your ecommerce store has exactly the same page title/descriptions on every page and the search engines are penalising you for it, this will plumet your rankings and most of the pages wont even make the top 100 let alone the first 2 pages." can anyone point me in the direction of where i change these titles ect. many thanks andy

Go to http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/5851 Barbara
sparky79 Posted August 8, 2010 Author Posted August 8, 2010 thanks for the quick response, fast feeling very out of my depth lol. followed the link to them installing it for you, but they are after £40ish as i have no programming skills... is it easier than i think? or is worth spending the £. thanks andy
♥14steve14 Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Its easier than you think. Jack produces some very good step by step instructions. Its worth spending the time installing it. remember to make a backup copy of your store files first. REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP
sparky79 Posted August 8, 2010 Author Posted August 8, 2010 can i copy the whole catalog folder and all its contents or do i have to create all the folders and then add the files. thanks for the help andy
♥14steve14 Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Read the instructions. I seem to remember that the file structure follows that already in a standard install of oscommerce. The instructions tell you which are new files, and which need to altered and how to alter them. REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP
