Product listing in List/Columns

Hi everyone

 

I know you can change the product listing in the admin side under configuration->change the list style->List or Columns.

But what i want is that the user can select the list style in the front end of the store. Anyone know how to do this? i was thinking about 2 images, 1 for list style, 1 for column style, but what is the code behind the buttons to deal with this?
