How do I create a pop up window using javascript?

Hi

I'm trying to figure out how to allow my customers click on an image (which sits in a table cell) so they can view a streaming video in a pop up window. I have my mp4 video sitting in a folder on my server. I just dont know how to properly point to it. I understand that javascript is needed but I'm not sure what the javascript would look like. Also, does the javascript sit in the stylesheet? And I assume html code within the table cell connects somehow with the javascript.
