Import/export dbase files in order to do upgrade?

Hi All,

I'd like to upgrade a 2.2MS2 site to 2.2rc2a. I've looked at the steps necessary and it just seems like there's too many opportunities for failure. I was wondering if there was a simpler way to export the current store data then perform a clean install of the update and then import the data. I really only care about the catalog info. I can deal with loosing the customer data and previous orders. The store only has about 30 products, but they're all downloads so I'd hate to go through the whole process of doing the attribute dance to get it all back. Is this feasible?

Thanks,

Chris

Hi,

Always found this useful http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/6467

It will sort the database out depends on your mods if that makes it simpler

Thanks John. So basically run the 3 commands and then install the new version of osc, right?

Yes never had any problems but remember to do a SQL backup just in case! Then you can overwrite the files except the 2x configure.php you will not need to overwrite the image/folder of course you will then have to add any addons again.
