Sporadic category display

Hello,

This is a post of frustration after a while of searching, so forgive me if I've overlooked the answer.

Working on my first oscommerce site and have decided to change the names of a few categories after many sub categories and products have been entered. Now, when you first load the site, in our left column under Categories it still displays the old (and incorrect) names. In the admin section everything displays properly and shows the updates did take place. Confusingly, when I click on some of the other categories in the left column, the column will change and display correctly. But if you go back home, it will revert to the "old version". I've cleared my cache, tried it on multiple computers, asked other people to visit the site, to no avail.

I can't figure out why its doing this and why is seemingly working but other times it is not. If someone could point me in the right direction, that would be appreciated. Just not sure where to look as I'm so new to this. I have looked at the database entries and verified everything was renamed correctly and assume that it is the site code itself somehow pulling old outdated information. We use Separate pricing per customer and hide products and categories contributions as well as Master Products contribution.

Thanks for your time and help,

Matt

If you have "Use Cache" set to true in your admin there is also a place there to reset the category cache on the site.

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.

This was definitely one of those cases I was over thinking things. Thank you for your help and patience.
