Changing date format for signup form

Howdy all,

 

In Australia we have the date format dd/mm/yyyy however OSC on the signup form is expecting mm/dd/yyyy. I have edited the english file to change the red text next to the date sign up form, however I am not sure where to change the validation code as currently it tells the user they are wrong if they enter it dd/mm/yyyy.

 

Could anybody point me in the right direction?
