ztwistbooks
I have a highly customized setup. I modified the USPS methods module so that media mail shipping is free, and the other methods (i.e., priority mail) are discounted by the amount that media mail would have cost. When people choose (free) Media Mail shipping and use Paypal Express to pay, sometimes, but apparently not always, OSC will quietly switch the shipping method to Priority Mail. It then shows the Priority Mail method and charges the correct amount for Priority Mail shipping. This does NOT happen with Authorize.net payment. I have no idea why this happens or even how to start troubleshooting it. Any ideas? Even a pointer to get me started in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. The store is at http://www.ztwistbooks.com if you want to have a look.

I have absolutely no clue about payment modules and why Paypal Express would be different than Authorize.net payment but I do know that when you choose a shipping method on checkout_shipping.php and click "Continue" the "get quote" for the shipping modules will be done again. Maybe there is where it goes wrong. In the install.txt of the UPSXML contribution is described in STEP 8 how to add the shipping quotes to the session of the customer so that instead of doing the "get quotes" again it grabs the needed info from the session values. Perhaps that works better?
