Guest Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Hi, I’m about to open an online shop using the osCommerce software suite. Before I go live I would like to test everything out. I have an account with Titan Internet that can be upgraded to suit my purposes; I have a PayPal Standard account linked to a NatWest business account. At the moment my shop is on a memory stick. The question is there a recognised test procedure that I should go through before uploading my shop to Titan and going live? I have a second question but have a feeling that I know the answer to. I am based in Milton Keynes and from my shop I am planning to give free delivery within Milton Keynes. Is there a way of not charging customers for postage within a town? Simply using the MK post code is not good enough because towns like Leighton Buzzard and Bedford also have MK postcodes.
Mort-lemur Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Hi, 1) Before even thinking of going live, make sure that you have all the security fixes in place to protect your site. 2) Best way to test is register as a customer on your own site and try to buy several times - and actually go through with the purchase - that way you know all emails are sent etc. and that the payment modules work as they should. 3) Take a look at MZMT (Mutli zone multi table) shipping contribution. Thanks Now running on a fully modded, Mobile Friendly 2.3.4 Store with the Excellent MTS installed - See my profile for the mods installed ..... So much thanks for all the help given along the way by forum members.
