♥altoid Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 I recently listed one of my stores on the osCommerce Shop Directory. When I checked my Google Analytics I was amazed at the spike in traffic to the store. Apparently not all with good intentions were the visitors there. I have the IP trap installed and that started nabbing intruders who were poking around where they shouldn't. I have pretty much all these security mods installed and I am glad I did. I don't know what other types of mayhem were attempted but based on my Site Monitor feedback, so far so good. My hunch is the osCommerce live shop directory site is attractive to hackers, it gives them all the osCommerce sites they want to try to get into. So be prepared.... I am not a professional webmaster or PHP coder by background or training but I will try to help as best I can. I remember what it was like when I first started with osC. It can be overwhelming. However, I strongly recommend considering hiring a professional for extensive site modifications, site cleaning, etc. There are several good pros here on osCommerce. Look around, you'll figure out who they are.

I regret adding my store there as well. I ban IPs right away that has that referring domain, as you can't seem to unlist yourself from that section.
