stefandunn Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Hi, I am setting up an online shop and chose to use oscommerce because of the large community and free support. I have one question, I know that oscommerce allow admins to send newsletters to customers who have signed up through registration, my question is how can i modify why already is there so that I can have a simple form on my website homepage which allows customers to sign up to the newsletter and then everytime I send a newsletter from my shop they will recieve it. I also what it so that the customer is able to register to buy stuff on the shop if they wish to in the future. What's the best way to achieve this? Thanks, stefan
Guest Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Hi Stefan, You can install this to allow for newsletter sign up from the left or right column box without creating an account. http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/535 Chris

Perhaps I am not making myself clear. I have a main website say in a folder called "main" and then a shop in a separate location called "shop" in which a link from my homepage located in "main" links to the shop. I would like to have a form on my homepage which will allow users to subscribe the the newsletter. Thanks, stefan
Guest Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Stefan, Linking a PHP form from your HTML main page to the PHP OSC store is NEVER a good idea (search the forum for OSCID). However, when the customer is ON the OSC store they will then see the newsletter box on the column if they wish to sign up. Chris
