ecroswell21 Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 I am looking to simply add three options for shipping but not have the calculate the shipping costs. I simply want them as options during the checkout process. Thre three options would be Overnight, 2-Day and Ground. The only stipulation is that while we dont want to charge for shipping up front, there is a $5 handling charge associated with each order. We will be billing the customer for the shipping after the fact. Thanks for the help out there Erik
ecroswell21 Posted July 22, 2010 Author Posted July 22, 2010 Anyone? Just so Im more clear here, I am not looking to calculate any shipping. I am just looking to have the user submit a type of shipping they want. Its almost like I would be just adding three radio buttons to the checkout page. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Erik
jhande Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Silly question... WHY? Not many customers will apreciate not seeing their shipping cost. - :: Jim :: - - My Toolbox ~ Adobe Web Bundle, XAMPP & WinMerge | Install ~ osC v2.3.3.4 -
ecroswell21 Posted July 22, 2010 Author Posted July 22, 2010 Yeah, I know I ask this as well but the cart itself doesnt actually charge a card ir anything. We bill them later and just add the shipping charge to that bill for whatever they choose. I know what you mean though, kinda strange its that way to begin with. However, it is. Do you know by chance how to add three radio buttons in the checkout process (at the shipping page) that would ask the customer 1.) Ground 2.) 2nd Day and 3.) Ovenight Thanks again Erik

ecroswell21 Posted July 22, 2010 Author Posted July 22, 2010 Tim, do you mean change the copy the "Per Item" shipping three times and change the name to the three to reflect what I need? How would I do that? Where would I do that? The database? Hmmmmmmmmmm ....

Where would I do that? The database? Hmmmmmmmmmm .... I have never done this before, but it seems you could take an add on like this: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/6290 Install it 3 times. Of course you would need to change the names of the different installations. Once you have the 3 renamed shipping modules installed, you can make them all true. Since it is a free shipping mod, no money would be added to the order total. Tim
