Remove file path on invoices and packing slips

I have been looking around and I can't find out where I would go to remove the path that is printed at the top of the invoices and packing slips.

My admin folder has been renamed and password protected via the cpanel.

From what I read, even though the path may be public (by being printed on the top of invoices and packing slips that are sent out to customers) since the renamed admin directory is password protected I'm fine.

But I would prefer to still remove the code/path, for peace of mind and to clean things up a little, no need for the clutter to be up there on a customers invoice/packing slip.

I skimmed through the invoice.php and packingslip.php files, but didn't see the code for the path in there.

Can someone lead me in the right direction

Yeah... I installed PDFCreator and when I print an invoice or packing slip I choose the PDFCreator as the printer and it creates a pdf of the invoice or packing slip to be electronically saved, and you can print it to use for pick tickets and accounting purposes.

The path is not printed on it. It is your browser that is putting that there.

Hi Greg

The Path can be removed in your browser settings

In Firefox – Click File > Page Setup

The settings can be changed in the Margins and Header Tab

Hope this helps

Oh okay, didn't even think it would be the browser. I guess that is why I was so confused as to why I couldn't find any answers in the code itself.

Thank you guys I appreciate it.

I recommend you install the PDF invoice addon;

After customising the formatting, you will end up with a much more professional looking invoice.

I still get confused looking at some contributions, because sometimes the people don't title the link as to whether it is a full version or a tweak of some sort.

I just looked over the link you sent and I downloaded the file and it is only a fix for a bug in the software when it is used with another contribution.

Then I looked through a bunch of other downloads in the area and I can't determine which is the most recent full version of this contribution. Which one should I download?

Keep in mind that the contribution is probably a PDF invoice designed for the customer, even if you could use it.

The PDF Creator that I suggest requires no altering of osC code but does require you to install a program to your computer. But, you can then use the program to create PDF files of almost anything you can print...not just osC stuff.

In the end it is your choice....base your choice on your requirements. Installing unnecessary add-ons is just going to hurt you in the end. Install it only if you need it...

I feel like I need to do something, because while my site isn't "live" yet, the sample invoice and packing slips that I am printing look like crap. The store name and address are jumbled up together and the logo image is sitting in the middle of the page by itself.

So I just wanted to find a way to position everything.

The PDF creator you are referring to, does it automatically input the order and customer information? Or do you have to manually enter the information for each sale.

It will print exactly what you see in the browser. If you are having issues with how osC formats an invoice or packing list on the screen then you need to fix the osC code.

If you print a Word document to pdf creator it will make a pdf of that document, not print it. If you print a picture using pdf creator it will create a pdf file containing the image. Anything you can print can be printed to pdf creator and it will create a pdf of whatever you printed, instead of printing it on paper.

So, Whatever you see on the screen while using the program used to print, is what will be in the pdf file that is created. So if your osC invoice looks like crap on the screen you will get a pdf that looks like crap.

If the PDF Invoice add-on allow you the flexibility to design your invoice then maybe that add-on is for you. I'm not that familiar with it since I do not use it.
