queenVandry
I tried implementing a contribution on my own and effed everything up. :'( :'( Can anyone explain to me how the restoration via OsCommerce works. I hit restore and it required me to login in again and took me back to the File Backup tab. I don't know what that means. Did it start downloading the backup files? Is there a way to view the progress? It didnt complete the backup because everything is still the same (effed up). Are there any other, better options? Please help! Fast! :'( :'( Vandry www.royalaccessonline.com

Guest
Vandry, Before attempting to install a contribution, you need to back up ALL your FILES and your database. Clicking backup under the admin tools will back up your database, but NOT the files. So if you have made changes to the files, you will need to restore your back up of the files. If you didn't create a backup of your files, you will need to manually remove the code you tried to install from all of the files to return them to the original state. queenVandry
My steps: Logged into OsCommerce admin site Clicked "Database Backup" tab Clicked "Restore" Uploaded the .sql backup file that I created earlier Clicked "Restore" Then the page refreshes and nothing happens. "Last Restoration: db_royalac1_osctempla-20100710105841.sql (forget)" Is now on the screen. What does that mean? What's happening? I just want to get my site back to the way it was. My customers are trying to order and they can't! Please please help me!! :( :( :'( :'(

Guest
Vandry, If the restore is not working from the admin, you may need to run the SQL from myphpadmin in your hosting control panel. Chris
Guest
Vandry, You create a backup of your files using your FTP program or your file manager in your hosting account provider. Chris
queenVandry
I manually deleted every new file that came with the contribution and restored the existing ones but I am still getting the same error message in the browser when I attempt to checkout. What does this mean?!? Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
