Meta Tag Question

Would it help if I put meta tag kewords on each product in my oscommerce store?

 

This would be in addition to the ones that are generated dynamically already.

 

Or would this be a bad idea to have two meta tags keywords on one page.

Using a standard product_info.php file you can not assign unique meta tags for each product, you could assign keyword for the product_info.php file itself but you would run out of room in the header fairly quick. This is why people use contributions like Dynamic Meta Tags and SEO Meta Tags that create meta tags on the fly depending on the content of the page loaded.

 

Other contributions include header tags and category tags.......which are also helpful but search engines are not paying as much attention to meta tags now, but rather unique content.

I have a SEO pack installed. It does create the meta tags for each page on the fly.

The keywords meta tags are created based on the description of the item. I would like more keywords but I dont want to have a long drawn out description. I have tried putting the keyword meta tag in the description and it does create a second meta tag that is invisible on the page.

You can put html code in the description it does work.

 

My question is it bad to have two meta tag keywords on a page?
