Error using wampserver

Hi Guys

 

I know this is not the wampserver forum, but was wondering if anyone could help please.

 

I recently had to reinstall internet explorer 8 and since then,I have the following error, when I try to open my oscommerce homepage.

 

"Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061) in C:\oscommerce\catalog\includes\functions\database.php on line 19

Unable to connect to database server!"

 

Also on my wampserver logo, it says one of two services running.

If I click start service for mysql, I get an error saying:

"Could not perform service action.

The servie cannot be started either because it is disabled or it has no enabled devices associated with it"

 

I was going to reinstall wampserver, which is where I think the problem is, but I dont have a backup of my database on an external drive and was worried if I uninstall/reinstall it, I could lose my database.

 

If anyone can help, that would be greatly appreciated.
