younmever Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Hello forum members, I've been having such a difficult time to figure out about PCI. Currently, I'm on a shared server. I've been trying to find out a hosting company who can make a shared server to be PCI compliant. But there seem to be no one can do that. So I've checked another way because moving to a dedicated server is such a big budget for a small business like me. I've heard that I do not need to worry a thing about the PCI test if I get something like Paypal Standard or Authorize.net (AIM) that stores the credit card information in their server. Could anyone confirm that I'm right? Thank you very much
FIMBLE Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 My understanding is that PayPal make it easier as you do not need to have any contact with the clients payment details. you should still consider an SSL cert all the same. PayPal pro is a good way to look pro but still not process the CC details, PayPal do have conditions you need to meet in order to use this and they do check that its in place also! younmever Posted July 6, 2010 Author Posted July 6, 2010 Thanks for your advise, Nic. I do have SSL. And I guess I have to contact with Palpal to make sure. Have a good one
