Guest Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Hi all, Thought this sort of thing would never happen but I guess it does. I've run my anti virus software but there appears to be no keylogger installed on my PC but I now suspect that there is. Anyway, I can't log into my admin now because the password is invalid. The only explanation I could think of is that I've been hacked. So could anyone tell me how to regain access to my account? Thanks very much in advance
Jan Zonjee Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 So could anyone tell me how to regain access to my account? Delete the admin password and you can enter a new one. If they also changed you .htaccess password protection you will also need the hosting providers help of course.
chadcloman Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 EDIT: Ignore this post -- Jan's answer is much better. Check out Chad's News.
Guest Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Hi again, I'm running into a bit of a problem here. I downloaded the reset password file and followed the instructions and reset the password. So I entered a new admin username and password, but I still couldn't log in. Any ideas? Looks as if there is some sort of issue with the admin login page or something. Is this happening to anyone at all? Thanks.
Guest Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Bump... sorry still need the help. The password reset wouldn't work at all. If I check the administrator table in the database, there is no username even though I had specified a new administrator username and password. Appreciate any help. Thanks :)
