ednitapr Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Hi. I'm new in this and I have problems configuring OsCommerce. During the AppServ installation process, IT ASKED FOR only the Server name, admin email and a Mysql password. Then, when I tried to intall the Oscommerce, the process requires the database username, and, I don't know what is it. I tried the admin email and the result is an error: Access denied for user '[email protected]'@'localhost' (using password: YES) Please verify the connection parameters and try again. I aprecciate you help in trying to find the username it requires. Thanks, Edna
MrPhil Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Do you have phpMyAdmin (or some equivalent Web access to MySQL) on your site control panel? Use it to see what has been set up for you for the database name, and associated user names. While you're there, check that the username has full privileges (ALL) and is properly "associated" with your osC MySQL database. Hopefully all that's been done for you. The name might have been automatically created as something like "osc1" (which might have to be entered as ACCOUNTNAME_osc1, e.g., myAcct34_osc1 -- check with your hosting service. There will be separate database names and user names, although if created automatically, they might happen to be the same. I seriously doubt that your email address is the correct user name or database name to use, but anything's possible.
