Hi,

I am running an OsCommerce webshop for 4 years now. It is never upgraded. It works perfect, but looks a bit oldfashioned at the moment. I see several new webshops, who also use OsCommerce, with all kinds of new possibilities. I want that too!!

Is it possible to upgrade my shop without too much problems?

I don't know what version of OsCommerce I am using at the moment, but I think it is a version from 2003....... On the bottom of the webshop it says: E-Commerce Engine Copyright © 2003 osCommerce

Kind regards,

Carla

You could just install 2.2RC2a and make your style changes again. It depends on which is going to be the easiest/fastest way to upgrade.

Except that simply "installing" rc2a would require a lot of fiddling to get the database ported across would it not?

What other options are there for upgrading?

The Addon you linked to contains a database upgrade. Apply that to your existing database and do a manual install of 2.2RC2a. I suggest doing this on a test site first (with a test copy of the database) to get everything working, then switch it over to the live site.

That's about it for options.

When upgrading do all of the site links stay the same as i am indexed for many pages in the search engines?

Your links will not change unless you are using a URL rewriter, and probably not then.
