recoil-jay Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Hi, Having trouble setting this up. I need to setup 3 different shipping methods that either the customer can select the option or it automatically detects their country and does it for them. What I need to be able to do is:- UK = Free Shipping Europe & Ireland = £9.99 USA = £12.99 It doesn't matter how heavy the items are to start with, just so long as I can set these 3 flat rates. I've setup the zone rates for now, added 3 separate zones like this:- Zone1 GB - 3:0.00 Zone 2 EU, IE - 3:9.99 Zone 3 US - 3:12.99 In theory, this works fine as every product doesn't have a weight added so they're all 0 right? Also, just worked out that EU isn't a country (ha) so I would have to list all the individual European states for Zone 2? Like on this link but get all the ISO codes? Let's say I've added all the EU countries, will the three zones and prices I've setup work properly? I have tested it on my account (UK based) and it says:- Shipping Method This is currently the only shipping method available to use on this order. Zone Rates Shipping to GB : 3 lb(s) £0.00 So it appears to be working but I don't like that 3lb(s) bit? Can it be changed to KG ? Quote
Guest Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Jay, Since you have three flat rates, you COULD just duplicate the FLAT RATE module and assign each of the 3 flat rate modules a zone. This would then ignore the weight and make the set up less complicated. Chris recoil-jay 1 Quote
recoil-jay Posted June 22, 2010 Author Posted June 22, 2010 How do I duplicate the flat rate module? Also, I do need your services Chris, I was going to email you last night but didn't get the chance. I will email you shortly. Quote
Guest Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Ok Jay, Shoot me an email and I will explain the flat rate duplication in the email. Chris recoil-jay 1 Quote
recoil-jay Posted June 23, 2010 Author Posted June 23, 2010 Chris, the flat rate idea was good and worked well but after talking with my clients, they want to add heavier products in soon which will incur a delivery fee so this method actually suits this need better. I know allot of people do charge a flat fee for all orders, to anywhere in the world and the method of duplicating the flat rate module like you said, would be perfect for that. Quote
wvlenthe Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Ok Jay, Shoot me an email and I will explain the flat rate duplication in the email. Chris Hi Chris, I'm quite new here and in the process of building my shop. I stumbled across this post. What I am looking for is a way to duplicate the 'table method' shipping module. My shop would offer the following: - for domestic destinations; a fixed fee for shipping, above € x free shipping - for international destinations; a fixed fee for shipping, no free shipping whatever the order amount. The 'zone based' method does several zones but does not do price-based calculations. The 'table based' method does not do more than one zone. I suppose I would need to duplicate the table method and set it for the zone I need. So, seeing your above post; Do you think this will work and could you point out how to do this duplication? TIA and kind regards, Wiljo Quote
