nunnzer
I'm very new to installing STS and need help....So after reading through a ton of the 282 page thread on STS installation I decided to make a thread for those who are in my situtation. I used my host (startlogic) to install OScommerce and I got it to work. Now I want to install STS 4.6. And after reading the directions in install.html I can't figure it out still. In the install is stays the following below....Does anyone know what folder I install the files into? These below is just not clear to me. It says install the following files into your store? Does that mean into my root folder for the site? My basic problem is that the STS doesn't show up into the modules? If that makes sense. Does anyone know exactly which files I pull out of the STS folder and what folder I put them in to get STS to show up in Modules. I'm probably just stupid and this thread will probably get moved but I need help not people to tell me I'm posting wrong :) Please help! 2. Installation: 2.1 The package contains: The package contains 5 folders Folder "STS": STS files. Folder "Files for MS2": files to copy over a fresh osCommerce 2.2MS2 (060817) installation. Folder "Files for RC1": files to copy over a fresh osCommerce Online Merchant 2.2RC1 installation. Folder "Files for RC2": files to copy over a fresh osCommerce Online Merchant 2.2RC2 installation. Folder "Doc" contains this file as well as other documents for the use of STS. If you have not yet upgraded your osCommerce store to osCommerce Online Merchant RC2a, you are welcome to do so as there are several security patches. Go to “http://oscommerce.com/downloads” to get it. 2.2 Backup files and DB Backup your store and database before installing STS, so if you screw up something you can come back to a working version. This is generally a good way to work. 2.3 Copy new files From the "STS" folder, copy the new files to your store: catalog\includes\classes\sts.php catalog\includes\functions\sts.php folder catalog\includes\languages\english\modules\sts (plus all other languages you may have in your setup) folder catalog\includes\modules\sts folder catalog\includes\modules\sts_inc folder catalog\includes\sts_templates 2.4 Modify osCommerce files The following osCommerce files are modified by STS: Note: If you have a fresh install of osCommerce 2.2MS2, you can take the files from the "Files for MS2" folder and copy them over your installation. If you have a fresh install of osCommerce Online Merchant 2.2RC1, you can take the files from the "Files for RC1" folder and copy them over your installation. If you have a fresh install of osCommerce Online Merchant 2.2RC2a, you can take the files from the "Files for RC2" folder and copy them over your installation. If you already have contributions installed, you can make the changes manually (They are all described in the next chapters). When installation is completed, go to chapter 3 for the configuration. catalog\admin\modules.php catalog\admin\includes\boxes\modules.php catalog\admin\includes\languages\english.php (plus all other languages you may have in your setup) catalog\admin\includes\languages\english\modules.php (plus all other languages you may have in your setup) catalog\includes\application_bottom.php catalog\includes\application_top.php catalog\includes\column_left.php catalog\includes\column_right.php catalog\includes\footer.php catalog\includes\header.php catalog\includes\classes\boxes.php catalog\includes\functions\html_output.php I

Cortright Clothing
How about for those of us, like me who dont understand the instructions like "If you have a fresh install of osCommerce Online Merchant 2.2RC2a, you can take the files from the "Files for RC2" folder and copy them over your installation." Where does this take place because neither my cpannel nor my ftp allows me the option to copy/paste. i can upload into folders with the same name but a copy over this is not. Do i upload each individual file into each individual folder via cpanel? Sorry I design clothing I don't know a thing about this kind of thing.
