milauskas Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 I have a BIG problem. I tried to add a new contrib (custom meta tags per item) to a site and messed things up pretty bad. On top of that my site backup is out of date so I know I've trashed some new files. I DID make a backup of the database before I did anything for what it's worth. FOr the custom meta tags contrib, I altered the database and made the changes to the specified pages. Then the admin section was missing the edit buttons on the right side (for several admin items). I couldn't see any products in the catalog area of the admin, either. I switched the updated pages back to their original state and reuploaded them. I was then getting errors (register_globals is disabled...). So after pulling my hair out I did a fresh install of osC but it's the plain vanilla install. I uploaded my database backup to the backups folder and I can see it in the database manager. However, when I hit RESTORE, it just loads a blank page in the browser. I don't think anything is being done. I went into phpMyAdmin to try to import the backup but it tells me it's too large a file (18 MB). What can I do? I am desperate! Please can anyone give me any help? Thanks.
♥geoffreywalton Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 You could use an editor to split the 18MB file into several smaller files and import them one at a time using phpmyadmin. milauskas Posted June 15, 2010 Author Posted June 15, 2010 Thanks for the quick reply. I found bigdump online and am trying to upload the database now. Wish me luck! Just to let everyone know, I was able to restore the database using bigdump. I found it by googling. SO my info is still there. Still have a major hurdle though, which I'll put in a new post.
