Editing manufacturers heading image

Recommended Posts

Hi there I have adapted the manufacturers drop down so I can group products by medical condition (http://www.cosyfeetshop.com/catalog/) and where it normally has manufacturer info with a web link I can have a ailment link to say a diabetes trust or arthritis care web site. This works fine but is there a way I can stop the manufacturer image coming up as a heading and just show in the manufacturer info box?? Any suggestions or help would be gratefully appreciated. Kind regards, Chris.

Hi,

I'm a little confused as to what you want to do.

I went to your site and clicked on the manufacturer box (shop by ailment) links and the pages that come up each have their own logo there plus the "Let's see what we have here" text.

What images are you trying to remove?

Chris,

I think I understand what you are looking for. Are you trying to list all of the illness categories as manufacturers so that you can list treatments for each or do you really just want to categorize the ailments? In which case you should just create a separate category for ailments. The Manufacturers listing is a good way to bring different categories together under a common thread.

Hi guys basicly I know I can just create a section in categories if I wish but prefer to use the manufacturers drop down as it also provides the manufacturer info box which would make a great box to have ailment links like to the UK association for diabetes etc. You can see the logos for the linked web sites I have chosen to use, Diabetes UK and Arthritis Care for example and I have adapted the manafacturer info box to suit naming it ailment info but as you can see osCommerce also uses the image for the heading image. I need to remove the image from the heading because it is nothing to do with my products BUT still keep it in the category box/ my new ailment info box to accompany the web site link. Any ideas :?:

What image heading?

I'm talking about the image used at the top of the page (top right) when someone selects a manufacturer well in my case ailment. So say I chose HP I dont want the HP logo to show in the top right heading of the HP manafacturer page, just in the manufacturer info box that someone sees when looking at a product from that manufacturer! This is because I want to use the manufacturer info box as a link box to ailment advice so would like to have the apropriate logo to match the web link, but not used as an image heading.

When I click on "arthritis" in the ailment box I do not see a hp graphic.

Can you post the exact link?

Thanks

I was just using HP as an example as you dont seem to undertand what I mean when I talk in regard to the ailment image headings. But the problem is still the same. I WANT TO HAVE NO HEADING IMAGE for the manufacturer pages so when you click arthritis at page http://www.cosyfeetshop.com/catalog/defaul...bbe1807bed0e9be youll see the web page logo for the arthritis care web page which I dont want displayed here, only in the manufacturer info box which I am using as a link box for ailment info. I hope this makes sense to you or perhaps someone else out there?? I would appreciate some advice.

Chris you need to make either no graphic for the manufacturer and hand code a graphic for when you want to show the arthritis foundation graphic...or.... remove the graphic from the manufacturers listing of items. Another option would be to keep the image, but move it somewhere else or make it smaller so it isn't as prominent.

Am I getting your point?

A.J u av got it! But any idea how I can hand code a graphic into the manufacturer info box that is particular to the chosen manufacturer whilst removing the graphic from the heading. I thought it would be easier to just remove the graphic from the heading, only I dont know how to do this!...?

Guide.osdox.com is the place to go to get a detailed instructional on how to make the changes you are asking for.

You will modify the manufacturers box to have a graphic equal to the value of the drop down and remove the graphic from the manufacturers heading. Shouldn't take too long. I like the idea of having the manufacturers logo appear. Someone has probably already done it.

Come on folks prove me right!

I managed to sort things out myself as there is nothing on osdox to explain my dilema thanks anyway. I had to change a line or two in the default.php file under the heading // Get the right image for the top-right.
