jonasgrumby Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 I just started setting up a store at http://alliesnaturalvending.com You can see on the home page and many other pages the Categories section in the upper left does not display correctly. In the source code those CSS classes come up as infoBoxHeading_table, infoBoxHeading_td, etc. On the single product pages the CSS works correctly and you can see in the source code that the table elements are not appended to the class names. Which file(s) should I edit to fix this? Thanks
♥kymation Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Set Admin > Configuration > My Store > Use Search-Engine Safe URLs (still in development) to false. Regards Jim See my profile for a list of my addons and ways to get support.
jonasgrumby Posted June 9, 2010 Author Posted June 9, 2010 I'm thinking /catalog/includes/boxes/categories.php around line 65 but haven't exactly found it yet.
jonasgrumby Posted June 9, 2010 Author Posted June 9, 2010 Thanks Jim. That worked, and I also managed to prove to myself that caching works. Too bad OSC is not more SEO friendly. I'm still learning about it so maybe there are some options people routinely implement.
♥kymation Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Ah yes, should have mentioned the cache. My bad. osCommerce needs a few mods to be completely SEO friendly. Get one of the Meta Tag Addons -- there are several with varying degrees of complexity and control. URL rewriters are not needed, and Google discourages their use. If you still feel you want one, use Ultimate Seo Urls 5. Take careful note of the other Addons that are supported, as some others may be incompatible or need changes to work. Regards Jim Edit: Spell checker, what spell checker? See my profile for a list of my addons and ways to get support.
