Issue with file manager in admin

I have ran into a problem that doesn't make sense to me and one I hope can be resolved without loss of added products. When I go in through the admin part of my oscommerce site and go to the tools and click on file manager, I get this message:

The requested URL /admin/file_manager.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Why is it not on the server, I have done nothing with it, or is the link broken and I need to notify the folks who are in charge of the server that is hosting my site? Any help in this matter would be great, thanks.

It is a good thing that it is not on the server. It is an un-needed and insecure file.

Well ok that is good. Then how do I make any modifications to the site without access to the files needed for any changes? For instance, like adding company logo where oscommerce logo is, or font types, sizes, etc..? That is the only reason I was wanting the file folder in the first place.

You need to FTP the file you want to change, to your computer, open up in notepad (or similar such program) amend, save, then re-upload. Obviously this requires you to have knowledge of FTP, knowledge of what/where to change the code in osc files etc.

I have messaged you a good resource site.

Ok, thank you. I have limited knowledge and some understanding of what you said about FTP so thanks for the resource site.

Hi,

I'm also a newbie at this. Can you please email me the resource site as well? Thanks.
