Guest Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Hi How do I set free shipping for US and Canada, and a flat rate for international? Quote
Guest Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Create zones in the admin area for USA and CANADA, including all states and provinces that you will be shipping to. You do not need to create a zone for international unless you only ship to specific areas internationally. If you do, then also create a zone for those selected locations. Once you have that done, clone the flat rate module 2 more times. Change the language files to the appropriate wording for each zone. Assign one of the zones for each of your shipping zones you previously created. Chris Quote
Guest Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 including all states and provinces that you will be shipping to So I need to type out all 50 states, and however many provinces there are in Canada? clone the flat rate module 2 more times. Change the language files to the appropriate wording for each zone. I'm pretty new to this. Could anyone explain more "newbie-ese"? Is there an easier way to accomplish this? Thanks! Quote
Guest Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 It is a fairly simple process, time consuming but simple. You will select the states from the drop down menu until you have all of the states you wish to ship to. This will be the same for the Canadian Provinces and International locations if you are going to define those shipping areas as well. (cough cough......there are 13 Provinces and Territories in Canada) Chris Quote

jonasgrumby Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 (edited) I am trying to do this with the MultiGeoZone MultiTable shipping module. It allows you to set up the zones as Chris described (except you enter them as Tax Zones with Shp: prefix). The advantage of the MultiTable part is that you can have any number of shipping methods in each of your zones. I have one zone where the only option is free local delivery by truck and other zones for geographic areas of the U.S. where buyers can choose one of two other delivery methods (free delivery not available in those zones). Something to think about since you haven't invested the time setting it up the other way yet. You may want to have more than one delivery method per zone, or different delivery methods available in different zones. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2571 The last full version at this time is v1.21. The two newer links are patches. You need the full version and then the patches. HTH Edited June 7, 2010 by jonasgrumby Quote
jonasgrumby Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 p.s. I'm curious to know what Chris thinks of the MZMT module. All I have done so far is start setting up my zones. Quote
