Will osCommerce work for me?

I run an online game. I want to deliver items to players. I do not understand how to go about this. I've been reading about digital deliver on several cart systems for nearly four hours. I do not see any example of this type of service. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

 

P.S. Our game items are stored in a MySql database, direct modification of the database would be preferred, but at this point i'll settle for anything.

OSC has the built in ability to allow customers to purchase and download digital products. However, I would suggest changing the standard download controller with this: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/4868 as it allows better control and is more reliable.

Thanks for the reply. I understand that it supports purchase and "DOWNLOAD" of digital product. However, their is nothing to download, it needs to be 'delivered' to a database. Or execute a command that does it. Or some other method i haven't considered.
