Regards, Sandy You have something else that needs your attention. Go to your Home page, <right click> and choose "View source". You'll find over 2000 invisible spam links at the end of the page source. I believe your site has been hacked. :'( If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. germ Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Holy Cow! I think so. What am I best to do? Reinstall? How to secure your site The link above suggests ways to prevent hacking. Read the first post closely. I noticed your admin (which also has the spam links on the login page) isn't protected by a .htaccess file. Because of the vulnerabilities mentioned in the first post in the thread linked to above, that is most likely how the hackers got "in". As far as cleaning up what's there you basically have 3 options: 1. Find and remove all the hack code. 2. Restore the files from a clean backup. 3. Start over. sandyj Posted May 28, 2010 Author Posted May 28, 2010 Thanks so much Germ I installed all new clean oscommerce files, but the generated links on the front page still remains. Do you know which file these might be generated from?
germ Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Thanks so much Germ I installed all new clean oscommerce files, but the generated links on the front page still remains. Do you know which file these might be generated from? Once site security has been compromised, ANY FILE is suspect until proven innocent by careful examination. You should put a .htaccess file in the root of the site and keep EVERYONE out until you clean things up. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. germ Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 And what's in the inc.php in your images folder? It's not "normal" to have php files in the images folder in most installs. sandyj Posted May 31, 2010 Author Posted May 31, 2010 Thanks Germ, I have worked it out. For anyone else who has this problem, I found the suspect files in /public_html/admin/includes/languages/espanol/modules/newsletters Once I deleted them, the spam links have disappeared.
