Okay... couple questions. I have added product attributes to many of my products, however the code seems to be messed up because it shows in the drop down box making it much larger and more difficult to read. I would also like to know if it is possible to change the layout so that when you click on the category, or log on the store, the categories and subcategories show up instead of the most recently added products. Many of my customers have said they were confused because they thought that was all I had for the products. I am just starting this out and don't exactly have the money to hire a programmer. I have been playing with the layout trying to make the store look more like what I'd like it to. I do know a bit about code, but not enough to go through and make all the changes I'd like to. thank you!

On the attributes, that "should be" controlled in your stylesheet.css Since you are using a template, I am going to guess that wasn't setup to be consistent with the template theme.

On the products display.

Oscommerce uses a module to display the most recently added products, your template looks like it is doing the same thing. However, it isn't very clear when you get to a category page that you're looking at products inside that category and not all the products. This is probably the source of confusion for your customers. Your template doesn't handle the category pages very well.

You should have something that shows the category images with a link to that category, then a clearly separated box that shows the most recent additions labeled correctly.

An example site from the live shops link on Oscommerce: This site, even though it is not in English you can see the site has it sub-categories, then the new products box below it.

I can't personally recommend an "easy fix" for this. Most of the templates I've seen look good with just a handful of products but become too cumbersome when dealing with alot of products.

If you are familiar with HTML I would suggest trying to build the site using stock Oscommerce and the Simple Template System.

It is a template that was set up before I had access to the site. I have been changing it little by little to suit my needs. These two issues are what are giving me the largest headaches. I'd really like to be able to show the category and sub-categories on the page before the new items... just to try to streamline it and make it easier for my customers. I'm just having issues finding a way to do it. Then there is the issue with the code for the attributes. These have me pulling out hair from my already balding head.

Your template would need to be modified to accommodate the sub categories. It is very difficult for anybody to tell you how to do that. 1 it can be a lengthy process, 2 we don't know how the template was designed. In most cases of people with template issues, folks are told to talk to the template creator or provider.

Wish there was some easy fix for you, but I don't know it.
