bestboy88 Posted May 25, 2010 Share Posted May 25, 2010 Hi, I somehow got a malware attack on my old site and decided to do a fresh install using OSC 2.2 rc2a. The site is installed and now I just need to migrate the old SQL db from 2.2 MS 2 ... I've been reading a lot of posts but they seem to be skipping a lot of steps for a newbie like myself or it just sounds overly complex. Is there an easy way to do this? Cheers! I simply can't see the point in copy and paste the same information here... Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here. As for contribution database it's located here! 8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself. Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues. I simply can't see the point in copy and paste the same information here... I saw the documentation but they don't really say anything about this in depth or I am missing a step - I am just having trouble moving my product catalog & customers database from the old osc to the new one. I keep getting error messages for the categories. :S if anyone's ever clearly explained this in the forums please help me find the thread cos I haven't found anything that was very complete or clear. I want to update it and get the new admin stuff in place, but i cant find any step by step info on the upgrade process. I have downloaded the latest version and installed it on a test server and its is very different from the old system i am trying to fix. The upgrade document in the 'extras' folder seems to document all the changes, but doesnt tell me what to do, unless i have to manually apply every change?! Any more info would be very useful!
