So_Not_an_HTML_genius Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Hi, I am starting to back everything up for our site to prepare for a move. (finally getting out of a bad hosting company) Anyway, I have not done a lot of addons for my store so I have not needed to check my sql databases for some time. When going in to the "new" database manager on our host, I can see there are 4 databases that were set up. I only have one store so I am confused as to why there would be 4 databases. Is there a way to determine that a database is not being used to safely delete it? Or, better yet, is there a tutorial on database set up, manage, etc. Our current host uses vDeck with a program that says MySQL Management - they have a beta but I don't like it so I use the older version to look at the database. Now there is only one database that is called what I call my store. There are three others; os1, os2, and test. I need to be certain that there is nothing in those separate databases that I would need. Does oscommerce only use the database that is named when you do a backup in the admin part of the oscommerce store? Thanks, Kelly
Collines Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 osCommerce only uses one database Take a look at the contents of the other ones. What records are in them? If unsure, it is unlikely that the others will in any way interfere with your store, so just leave them be.
