Centre Background Image?

I have used Spooks small code to centre my shop and I have worked out how to get a background image, but I want the background image to be inside the border, so within the boundaries of the centred shop, not outside of it. I have tried putting a width code in but that didn't have any effect. Is there a way to do this?
