Gisele
I'm not sure if this question is a configuration issue or a feature issue, so I apologize if this is in the wrong area. Is there a way to set a product or category to not be displayed anywhere in the New Products areas. I don't want to hide all categories or products, just certain ones from being displayed as a new product on the main page, what's new area.. I only want the category/product to appear in the category menu, nowhere else. I thought I saw a module for this, but I can't find it, so I'm not sure if it was something I saw on someone elses site. Hope this makes sense.
mattice
You can set the insertion date in history (with phpMyAdmin) to prevent an article to get listed in what's new. For categories... a category that does not get a name assigned to it will not visually display on the catalog, yet it can still hold articles. Guest
For categories... a category that does not get a name assigned to it will notvisually display on the catalog, yet it can still hold articles. I am trying to accomplish this now. The only problem with the solution you offer is that the category list is still pushed down (or the bottom of the box is depending on sort order) for each unnamed category. If you have several unnamed (intended to be invisible) categories, this can start looking very sloppy. There needs to be a way to have certain categories not list at all. orchard
Somewhere in includes/boxes/categories.php you should be able to test for the category name being blank and not add it to the list. In olden times the men were made of iron and the ships were made of wood; now it's the other way around.
rezman
Not quite sure how to do this. Any thoughts where to begin? Thanks!
