franz_sss
Did a clean install of 2.2 onto a shared server environment following the instructions at oscdox. All went well but when I open the catalog, i get the following warning: Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: <path>/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file. Now, the installation told me to use chmod 644 on configure.php and if that didn't work, chmod 444. Have done both and still getting this message. What should I set the permissions to on this file? what can i do to get ride of this warning please help
Guest
Francis, 444 WILL correct the error. However, if you are using an FTP client, sometimes the permissions are NOT changed, when you think they are. You may need to change the permissions in the cpanel as some hosting providers require these changes to made only through the cpanel.
