Wayne,

You can download the site using your FTP and then upload it into your root directory.

OR

rewrite the URL in the .htaccess file

OR

you can point your domain name to the /catalog/ directory so when someone enters www.yourdomain.com they are sent to www.yourdomain.com/catalog/

Did you install it into directory (folder) "/catalog"? If so, that's where you need to go to run it. Look in your hosting service file manager to see if there is a "catalog" directory directly under your main site. The default is for osC to be loaded into "catalog" (under wherever you specified), so that's probably what happened.

If you want visitors to your main site to go directly into the store, ask your host how to do "redirection". You want to redirect / to /catalog. Your account control panel may have a button to do that, or you may have to manually edit your .htaccess file (if on a Linux server) to do a "URL rewrite" for the redirection.

The alternative is to move all the files in "catalog" up one level to the site root, but I would strongly recommend against that (you mix application files with system files, and if you ever want something besides a store on your site, it becomes very difficult). You also would need to manually change your configuration files to point to the new site structure.
