My site (http://sneakerbasement.com/) loads very slow. I am a relative beginner at php but am wondering if there is an easy fix or some good reading materials on how to optimize the site for better speed.

Thread on the topic: A Store Speed Optimization in Progress, Step by step from a vanilla install!

Output Queries Debug Contribution to see how many queries a page generates and how long it takes to execute them (find excessive amount of queries or slow ones).

depends on the server load as well, as some webhosts hold up to 10000 website per server and this cause the server overload.

8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself.

Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues.

Any issues with oscommerce, I am here to help you.

Hi,

I'm thinking of optimising my site to improve load speed. and have tried following the post of Chemo's that Jan referrs to.

However, Im finding it quite confusing, as some of the "fixes" in the early posts are dismissed as having problems in the later posts.

My question is: is there a posting anywhere that identifies the best way to optimise a store in easy (for the likes of me) steps?

eg:

Remove banner code by doing this: xxxxxx

Remove other languages by doing this: yyyyyyy

Improve product queries by doing this: zzzzzzzz

Many Thanks

Now running on a fully modded, Mobile Friendly 2.3.4 Store with the Excellent MTS installed - See my profile for the mods installed ..... So much thanks for all the help given along the way by forum members.
