Purebeads
Hello all. I unzipped the osCommerce program in the folder Catalogue but have decided not to install it. Will deleting the Catalogue folder get the whole thing off my system? I've decided to go with OpenCart instead. Thanks.
multimixer
Obviously you need to undo the steps you did for installing it Delete folder /catalog/ and delete the database you created for osCommerce My community profile | Template system for osCommerce - New: Responsive | Feedback channel
Purebeads
Well, it didn't seem obvious to me. When I unzipped the osCommerce zip file, I believe (though I'm not sure) that it inserted files in the root directory and created several directories. I think it created a directory outside of the Catalogue folder, but I'm not sure. I thought that maybe someone here would know. Thanks anyway. multimixer
You said that you installed everything into the /catalog/ directory, that you "unzipped the osCommerce program in the folder Catalogue" If you installed to the root, then you need to locate files and folders there and delete them Normally, when you want to instal to folder /catalog/ there is nothing to add to the root. It is possible that you made mistakes during upload and installation, so that you added files to places that you was not supposed to do. If you don't know exactly what you did, then how can somebody else here know? Good luck anyway My community profile | Template system for osCommerce - New: Responsive | Feedback channel
Collines
Look at the copy of oscommerce that is on your computer and see what files and folders are in it. Look for a directory that contains the same files and folders on your server. That will obviously be the right directory. If you installed in the root, then you have to make sure you only uninstall the folders that are the same as those on your local copy of oscommerce otherwise you may end up deleting stuff that you do not intend to delete.
