full membership? I seem to have stumbled across the latest iteration of the PP shopping cart, and it seems that all a person needs is normal stuff for any cart... name, CC info, address.

Is this a change? Do they still require verification or is PayPal now a legitimate payment processor equal to a Merchant account? Does not needing membership info mean one can now enter transactions taken over a phone like a virtual terminal?

I'm confused because I see conflicting reports all over. Please help to sort this out... for all of us hopeful... :D

They don't need to be verified to send money thru PayPal, but as the bear said, they do have to create an account. But you, the payment reciever has to be verified and have a business account, in order to recieve credit card payments.

However, you can 'Request Payment", so they don't have to go through your shop, but they still have to create the dreaded and highly controversial 'PayPal Account'.

I do not know of any 3rd Party Merchant servcices companies that give you a virtual terminal. You'll need a full flegged merchant account/gateway to do this.

NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit.

If you have a question about any of my posts here, your best bet is to contact me though either Email or PM in my profile, and I'll be happy to help.
