Documentation of payment modules

Hi, from install there are a lot of payment modules.

 

I`d like to remove them all, since they are not useful for me.

 

But, I do not know if there anything I must keep in order to make new payment modules work.

 

I have searched after some sort of documentation, but I tend to believe that there is none.

 

So If anyone could advice me what to keep, and what to remove I would be very greatful.
