Jswizzler
Hi I am completely new to OS commerce for please forgive i as I am probably asking a question posed alot. I have installed OS commerce and get the message asking to remove the installation file which i have done. I also still have the message Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: e:\domains\j\jjnobrega.net\user\htdocs\catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file. I have attempted to change these permission via Smart FTP but when I righ click and change permission i get this message : 550 Can't change directory to /htdocs/catalog/install: No such file or directory I am running windows server 2003 ,what am I missing, or is there another way to change permissions?? Hello newbie I am myself a newbie to oscommerce and came across that same issue using three different ftp programs trying to get it to change. HWhat i did finally do to correct the problem was go straight to the file manually on my sever and right click - choose properties and change the settings there. that solved the my problem. It didn't ask you to change to the install directory, it asked you to change permissions on e:\domains\j\jjnobrega.net\user\htdocs\catalog/includes/configure.php That is not in the install directory. But the Wizzler's statement is also true. Many server settings will not let you change permissions with ftp programs. If this is your own server then go to the box and log in as a user with proper rights and browse to the file and right click on it to change the permissions.
