jewels1
hi i went through all the database on the phone with my host . i set it all up with their instruction. They argue that because the catalogue page is showing it must be a problem with oscommerce not the database. They wont answer anymore questions on saying its installed correctly. if it was why is there still 403 on admin. I know my include/config is written because catalogue shows and ive looked at my admin/includes/config so i have no idea where the problem is. Ive looked at your answer and mine seems the same. any more advice? thanks in advance when the files are uploaded and installed what prmissions do the folders need to be incase its a permission problem? ♥mdtaylorlrim
403 error codes are 'Forbidden - you don't have rights to access xxxxx on this server.' Either you are not passing directory security, or you set up directory security incorrectly, or you have the directory permissions wrong. You quite likely installed a contribution that is designed to password protect your admin directory but the password file does not contain the correct information, or is not there. Set the admin directory to 0755 if it's not already, and/or rename the .htaccess file in the admin directory to see if either is the problem.
