HobZilla Multi Store Contribution

Recommended Posts

Hi,

We have installed the Hobzilla Multi Store Contribution to a clean version of OsCommerce:

http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1730

Everything seems to be OK, however I cannot figure out how to add a new store. I have read through the docs, but cannot figure it out. What does this contrib do exactly?

I was thinking that is automatically made a copy of your default store and put it in the new stores that you add, like this:

www.mydomain.com/store1/

www.mydomain.com/store2/

www.mydomain.com/store3/

Is that what this does? Or do we have to manually copy code into these new store directories? Please advise.

Thanks!

No, you have to manually copy over the shop files to the new location and you will have to do some manual file editing too...all is described in the included readme instructions for the mod.

It does not create websites automatically for you.

This contribution is good if you have multiple websites, but don't want to log into each one to manage all orders, products, etc...

Example:

website 1 = rock-tickets.com

website 2 = classic-tickets.com

website 3 = pop-tickets.com

website 4 = blues-tickets.com

You would use only 1 database and 1 admin area to manage all of these 4 websites. Any orders on any of the 4 websites will go directly to 1 admin area and 1 database for you to manage everything.

How much wood, would a woodchuck chuck wood, if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
