melrogers
Have a strange problem...I installed osC on my Win2K computer and got it all working as I'd like. Then installed a new Dev and Production version on my hosting account. I click other methods of shipping (besides Free Shipping) yet only Free Shipping shows as the option available to pick from. I'm able to change the Payment module with no problems. I tried at first without the USPS Shipping Methods Contribution, and it didn't work. Then I installed the Contribution on my Live server, and still nothing but Free Shipping remains visible. I've searched the forum for a similar problem, but came up empty. Any ideas on what I could be missing? Thanks.
Ajeh
What snapshot are you using? Sounds like you have my Free Shipping and Payment modules in there. If so, and you have the new MS1 you may want the new code for that ... If so, get the Downloads Controller v5.3 This works with the *original* shipping and payment modules not the old modified ones. The settings are based on the new Payment default settings configured in the Admin. There are a few settings under Downloads that are added and need configuring but it should be in the README.txt file. NOTE: Free shipping is triggers by a cart of 0 weight. If your products do not have a weight, it will think everything is free.
melrogers
Thank you Linda for the quick reply! I'm using MS1. You know, I'm not 100% sure if the Free Shipping and Payment modules are in there, because the person who set my hosting account up also set my osC Dev/Production sites up for me. I'll have to ask him and see. At the present time, I'm using the default data that came with osC. Would you happen to know if it has already defined any weights associated with the default items in the catalog? I'm guessing it didn't, which would explain my problem.
Ajeh
Default products are set up with weight. Check the dates on your /includes/modules/shipping/filenames Also see if there is an IF statement near the top around an enable a definition with the word enable in it. If there is, this is maybe an old design I wrote for Free Shipping and Payment. Also check if there is a module that starts with the word free in the shipping and payment directories. If so, this may be an old design I wrote. If so, and you are on the current snapshot new as of January 1st or so, you may need a different method for this. I re-wrote the Downloads Controller v5.3 but that is for MS1. You can take it back further by a few days or so if you like to modify files ... :D
melrogers
Ok, from what I can tell, the shipping module I have is not the same one that is current (found in Downloads Controller v5.3 - MS1), so I'm wondering if that could be part of the problem. Is there a way to uninstall this module so that it's back to the way it came when the default osC was installed? Or do I just have to go ahead and try installing up the latest 5.3 version? Thanks again!
Ajeh
What did you start with for the snapshot, downloads controller, free shipping and payments, etc.?
melrogers
Linda, I think I found a solution. I just copied all my usps.php, freeshipper.php, general.php, and modules.php files from my working copy that I use on my windows machine to my hosting site. It all works now. Thanks for all your time you spent helping me!
Ajeh
That works for me ... :D Sounds like you may have had older versions of the modules.
