Guest
I'm having issues with the company who will be supplying parts that i will be selling. They won't tell me the weight of the products that i'll be selling so my customers have to send me an email with all the things they want. I was wondering if i can have the checkout calculate the cost before shipping, email it to us, and ask the customer to wait for a reply with the total cost... Also, if it's not possible with osCommerce, which eCommerce thing will? Thanks for your prompt response, ~Xander

So, there is no technical information on the product available on the web? How many products? Can you simply take delivery of one of each as a sort of 'showroom model' and weigh it yourself? ♥mdtaylorlrim
we have multiple vendors that won't tell us... also, we're completely on the net But you are still a physical person somewhere. You can order one for yourself and weigh it when it arrives. Next sale you can ship it yourself instead of using whatever dropshipper you are dealing with. You will do nothing but hurt your business if you can not calculate shipping and charge the sale all in one operation. But failing that you could have an estimated 'flat fee' per product with a ton of disclaimers on your site that the sale will be final upon shipping so that 'actual' shipping costs are charged instead of estimated. You can alter the sale before shipping. Set your credit card merchant account to authorize only and manually process the charge once the customer approves the final shipping price.
