osCommerce

The e-commerce.

Warning: No file uploaded.

I've installed oscommerce with the aim of offering down loadable test for other teachers.

When I fist added a product I was prompted to upload a file for that product, which I successfully did. However, when trying to add other products (essentially PDF files) I get the "Warning: No file uploaded." on reviewing the product - obviously I've missed something or, after installing paypal standard messed something up.

Basically I want to offer PDF files, and have customers download after purchase from a 'products' folder.

It's late and the frustration in setting in - any help appreciated.

I need to piggyback onto this one. I am in the same boat, wanting to offer .pdf files for download. I have followed all the dcoumentation I can find for setting this up.

I have figured out that they need to be zip files, but after I pay via Paypal, there is noplace to download the files! In addition, the previous poster says that when they added the product, they were prompted to upload a file. I was never prompted to do this. I put the file name in attributes. I thought that was supossed to read from the catalog/download folder. Is there someplace else where I need to point to the file?

PLEASE HELP!

The file being asked to upload is the IMAGE of the product being offered for sale, I believe. (I don't deal with downloadable products.)

Enable the download products in the Store Configuration -> Download. there you may see some instructions on how and where to put your downloadble products.

I'm sure others that do use osC for download products will chime in and offer additional help.

Thanks, but I have already been all through the instructions for setting up downloads. There isn't much help in the official documentation. I sincerely hope someone who has successfully done thos will answer. It is good to know that it is the image file they are calling for. I thought so, but I wasn't sure.

Sorry if this has nothing to do with it, but it's worth checking whether you're uploading a file/image to a folder which doesn't have the correct permissions. In my case, I put images into subfolders according to manufacturer. Sometimes I create a folder for a new manufacturer and forget to set the permissions to be writeable. Then when I try to upload a new product using admin, it can't write the image to the new folder and warns me that the file (image) was not uploaded.
