Shadow-Lord
Hi, Database Local Restore is failing. It gives no errors, just doesn't seem to do anything. Running php-5.2.9-2, mysql-5.0.88-1. This is also a fresh install of oscommerce 2.2 RC2. Is this a known problem.

Jan Zonjee
BUMP Bumping is against forum rules: Bumping postings to the top of the forum channel listing, made to get more attention to the post, is not allowed. When no one has replied to a posting you have made it is recommended to reply in the same thread with more information that may help in resolving the issue. Anyway, this sounds like "My car isn't starting, can anybody tell me how to fix this?"
Shadow-Lord
Its a fresh install. Everything else works fine, except local restore. It backups to server and local with know problems. And it will restore the database stored on the server. Any advice on what to check or test.

So if I understand you correctly you are of the impression that somehow you can restore the database on the server on your local computer with pushing one button in the admin section? It doesn't work that way. You first need to download the backup of the database you would like to restore to your local computer using FTP. Then physically put that file in the directory admin/backups on your local computer and then do the local restore.

Is there a reason when you click restore it asks for the location of the database file on your local pc.
Jan Zonjee
Is there a reason when you click restore it asks for the location of the database file on your local pc. That's the other button restore (the left button). I forgot about that one but indeed you can upload an sql file (not compressed) from your local PC to the remote server adn then have it do a restore. Tricky if you ask me. First you need to upload the file and then do a restore. If the maximum execution time for a script is 30 seconds on the remote server and cannot be changed there is a serious risk that it cannot be completed in time. To restore the backup you downloaded (you can also download with the icon on the left side but for a large backup you again run the risk of running out of PHP time) you would click on the i icon next to it's name (assuming it is in admin/backups) and then click on the restore button on the right side.
