Guest Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Hi I have just installed Header Tags. I have changed the description in the index.php file. Will my description under my company name in the Google search now change from: Children's Educational Toys Activity Mats · Baby Care-> (21). Branded Toys-> (10). Children's DVDs · Clocks & Watches · Dressing Up · Educational Toys-> (24) ... to Children's Educational Toys (whatever is in the description in my index.php) Thanks, Andrew

If it is not something is wrong. Since this file would also be used if a customer clicks the Baby Care category you'll need to set a specific Title of this page. Your descriptions work the same way. The Homepage uses the Index.php, but all your categories need to be updated since the index page is used to generate them. Hope this helps, Don

I have noticed that my categories do come up in the tab in IE and FireFox. Unfortunately, just the title of the website comes up when I click on the actual product page. Shouldn't it come up with the product page title? Any ideas why this is happening?

The products use a different page to generate their Title, Description, Keywords. (I believe it is)products_info.php You can go to admin>configuration>seo urls> There you'll see an option to Enable or Disable "Use Header Tags as name?" enabling this should make your products name be the title The problem I have found this is you want the best results in the search engine as possible. So your product is named "Baby Potty Time" But you want your page to read, Book, -Baby Potty Time, Mendison Publishing To do this you can manually edit each product in the admin section, or use the add-on easy populate to generate a specific Title, Description and keyword set for each product. Hope this helps.

Can't find any "Use Header Tags as name" option in my SEO Url, just the following: Value Action Set the number of days to store the cache. 7 Remove all non-alphanumeric characters? true Enter special character conversions. (Better to use the file bas Choose URL Rewrite Type rewrite Output W3C valid URLs? true Enable SEO URLs 5? true Add cPath to product URLs? false Add category parent to beginning of URLs? true Filter Short Words 1 Turn debug reporting on true/false. false Reset SEO URLs Cache Select caching system. FileSystem I will complete all the fields in the product and category header tags, although it does say for the titles that leaving them blank will use product title and description as default. Thanks
