Remaning Admin Folder

Banana Man

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am trying to rename my admin folder for security reason. However, when i change the folder name and upload it i am getting a blank white screen when i try to access the new admin folder index page. I have updated the configure.php file within the new admin folder to reflect the chnage. Can anyone advise if their is anything else i should be doing? I am using Dreamweaver so when i change the folder name it is changing various links within the admin folder to reflect the folder name change also.

Thanks

There are no links that need to be changed by dreamweaver or any other programm

Go to your filemanager (or my documents) or wherever you have the files stored and change the name there. Same you do on the server via your host cpanel. Then you change the paths in configure.php files and upload them

Thats all, not more not less

Thanks, that got it sorted. I have a new issue now though :(

I havent changed the normal configure.php file to the way i had it before i.e. includes/configure.php. The site has just been put on a new server so maybe that has something to do with it? Now when i click any internal site links i am getting two trailing // after the domain name i.e.

mysite.com//index.php/cPath/37

all pages appear fine but this just seems strange. If i change the configuration setting from

define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/');

to define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '');

it removed the additional forward slash but i dont know if i should be fixing the problem this way?

Any ideas why this is happening or what is the best way to sort it?

No, you should have one forward slash there. You probably have a forward slash IN FRONT of something that should not have a slash in front of it.
