Out of Stock

Recommended Posts

Hi

If I have a product which is out of stock, the product does not appear on my website. How can I change this so all my ptoducts are on my website, but the ones which are out of stock say out of stock and do not have a "add to cart" button?

Thank you

Andrew

Thanks. The stock in configuration only allows you to write a message for the product out of stock when a customer goes to the cart once added the product. I am looking for an option where the product is displayed on the product page, but with the comment "Out of Stock" somewhere on that page and the "Add to Cart" button not on the page.

At the moment, I have to mark the product as not in stock in the catalog section which takes the product off the website altogether.

Make sure in the setting administration area, configuration -> stock -> Allow Checkout is set to FALSE and configuration -> stock -> Mark Out of Stock is set to "Out Of Stock". Now, the Add to Cart button will still be displayed but the customer will not be able to add it to their cart.

Hi, I have this same question and found this thread after extensive searching and finding nothing else. I tried this and the customer is still able to go to checkout even if it is ticked as false. I understand what "xingho" wants. They want the stock item to display with an indication to the customer that there is no stock. Why can the ---- insufficient stock ----- message not be displayed at this stage? This is what I want also. Not a disabled button that the user has no idea as to the reason it is not working, but a clear indication that there is no stock without having to temporarily remove the item from the shop until there is stock. Can this be done at all?

The stock settings in admin vary on osC version, if you have rc1 or above & not modified be a template mangler you should have

The Change Product Status If Depleted which means set to false, when there is no stock left product will still be displayed, but you need to alter the code to allow for zero stock

Product Listing Enhancements, Thumbnails & Manufacturer Headings http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/6051 will automatically change display for zero stock, ie no add to cart but a details button instead.

Look at that & other add-ons to find the code you want.
